The Higher Dimensions Series

A series of articles exploring some of the strange and delightful curiosities of higher dimensional space.

Part One: Distance to the Origin
Part Two: The Cube Inside the Ball
Part Three: The Distance Between Points
Part Four: The Probability Theory Connection

The Magical Realm of Statistics

A sporadic effort where I aim to explore fun topics in statistics. I hope to use this as an outlet to learn about and experiment with methods and topics that are new to me and that I find interesting.

Generalized Additive Models with Integrated Smoothness Estimation
Hidden Markov Models

Stochastic Art

A fledgling pursuit of creating art with R. I’ve just started exploring these capabilities but it has quickly become a bit of an obsession. Coupling simulated data with plotting capabilities offers an exciting universe of visual possibility, where experimentation is often rewarded with surprisingly delightful results (code on GitHub)

Here are a couple of recent examples:

Pixel Modeling

An experimental process of fitting various statistical and machine learning models to samples of an image’s pixel values and using those models to reconstruct the entire image to get some cool effects (code on GitHub).
